How do I prevent email from going into a bulkmail or Spam folder?

Email providers are constantly changing their methods to classify email which can prevent wanted emails from arriving to your inbox, and they may get caught in your bulkmail or spam folder. We recommend you add the senders address to your approved sender list, also known as your white list.

Here are a few different ways to add senders to your safe sender or white list depending on your email provider. In all of our instructions just replace “[email protected]” with the address that you want to whitelist:

Gmail

Gmail uses "Filters" as its primary whitelisting tool.

  1. Log in to Gmail on a computer (filters cannot be created in the mobile app).
  2. Click the Settings (gear) icon in the top-right and select See all settings.
  3. Go to the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab.
  4. Click Create a new filter.
  5. In the From field, type the email address or domain you want to whitelist.
  6. Click Create filter.
  7. Check the box for Never send it to Spam.
  8. Click Create filter again to save.

Outlook / Hotmail / Live

  1. Open Outlook on the web or the "New Outlook" desktop app.
  2. Click the Settings (gear) icon at the top right.
  3. Select Mail, then choose Junk email.
  4. Scroll down to the Safe senders and domains section and click + Add.
  5. Type the email address or domain and press Enter.

  6. Save.

Apple Mail (iPhone/iPad)

Apple Mail does not have a formal "whitelist" tab; it uses your Contacts and the "Not Junk" signal.
  1. Open the email from the sender.
  2. Tap the Sender’s Name or email address at the top.
  3. Select Create New Contact (or Add to Existing Contact) and tap Done.
  4. If the message is already in your Junk folder, swipe left on the message, tap More, then tap Mark as Not Junk.

Apple Mail (Mac Desktop)

  1. Open the Mail app and go to Settings (or Preferences) > Rules.
  2. Click Add Rule and name it "Whitelist."
  3. Set the condition to: If [From] [Ends with] [@example.com].
