Content Management Systems (CMS)

Content Management Systems (CMS) make it easy for you to update your website without having to know code. By building your website on a CMS, it can grow, change, and develop based on your needs.

* A CMS is designed to:

    - Allow for a large number of people to contribute to and share stored data.
    - Control access to data, based on user roles (defining which information users or user groups can view, edit, publish, etc.).
    - Aid in easy storage and retrieval of data.
    - Control of data validity and compliance.
    - Reduce repetitive duplicate input.
    - Improve the ease of report writing.
    - Improve communication between users.

In a CMS, data can be defined as nearly anything: documents, movies, text, pictures, phone numbers, scientific data, and so forth. CMSs are frequently used for storing, controlling, revising, semantically enriching, and publishing documentation.

Dynamic Websites for Dynamic Businesses

While many businesses have similar functions and goals, every business has its own unique way of operating. We will spend the time with you to learn how your business works in order to make your website work with you. There is no "one size fits all" website, and we will go the extra mile in making your site fit your business. Because we work with CMS and a modular framework, we can even expand your website as your needs change and grow, so you will not outgrow your site. If you've seen it online, we can do it!

Open Source

While we work with many different programming languages and CMS platforms, our enCOMPASS team does favor one of the most popular Open Source platforms available today - Joomla! Joomla is an award-winning content management system (CMS), which enables developers to build websites and powerful online applications. Many aspects, including its ease-of-use and extensibility, have made Joomla the most popular website software available. Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone. This means no expensive licensing fees for proprietary software.

joomla logoJoomla! is distributed as open source software allowing us access to all of the code that makes Joomla! work. Not only that, it is distributed under the GPL license, so we are free to modify the code and distribute it ourselves. This allows us to offer a highly customized version of Joomla! that fits the needs of your business. Over the years we have found certain features that every business with a web presence needs in order to maximize the value of their website. We include all of these features in our base installation.
